The purpose of speedreading is not to read a thousand words a minute, all the time. At work, as well as for study, it is to read very fast through irrelevant information but to slow appropriately when you need to absorb detail in order to understand enough to have useful discussion and make good decisions.
The training offers a selection of speedreading techniques to develop the physical ability of the eye to move faster and the brain to process information at greater speed. You will not be told how to speedread; supported by a useful workbook, you will be guided through a series of short exercises to develop your understanding of the principles, your skill in applying them and your confidence in your own ability. Each technique will help you read faster, some will suit you better than others, but it's combining them that will help you maximise your speed without losing the ability to understand and retain the information
